OVERWHELMED?
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah. Psalms 61:1-4
Life brings adversity (tribulation) to all. It comes in many forms: the loss of a loved one to death, financial distress, or failing health. When we try to express our heartache and troubles to others, they don't always understand.
As redeemed children, we can go to our Father for divine aid. He is able to comfort and give strength to endure. We can have confidence in God during times of adversity because He is…
1. Omniscient - He knows our circumstances...“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Matthew 10:30
2. Omnipotent - He has the power to help. “Great is our Lord, and of great power” Psalm 147:5a,b
3. Omnipresent He is with us; thus the Psalmist stated, “...the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.” Psalm 121:5b
We can avoid the pit of despair by taking all of our woes to the One Who loves us most.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1
JESUS CHRIST IS LORD
