Contemporary Irreverence

“Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” Psalm 29:2

Visiting churches recently, I noticed an overt absence of reverence for God among the people.

Food, coffee and other drinks were consumed during worship as if we were seated in the local movie theater.

Can we focus on the LORD with the delectable taste of mocha latte on our tongues?

Parishioners were texting, answering their cell phones and conversing.

Surely, we can abstain from these pleasures for 60-90 minutes and give God the respect of which He is more than worthy…
